Mind Well offers a soothing, therapeutic environment that is private and patient-centered. Care is customized and individualized utilizing a wide range of conventional medicine and alternative, natural modalities. Our therapies include:

Psychotherapy
Providers: Jennifer Otis, MA, LMHC, Linda Mazak, Elise Maccurtain-Cogan, LMHC,
Let’s start a dialogue built on respect and trust in a nurturing and safe environment. We want you to feel good about yourself, to enhance your sense of self. It begins with communication, building greater awareness of thoughts and feelings, discovering patterns, developing strategies and responses to challenges. Using a variety of techniques our providers will help you through this individual process to well-being.

Psychopharmacology
Provider: Elaine Kay, RN, CNS, NP
With a holistic and measured approach, Mind Well nurse practitioner, Elaine Kay, is well-versed in the most effective medications available today. She understands the profound effect drugs can have on mood, thoughts, and behavior, and focus on medication evaluation and management that create the appropriate medication regimen designed to make you feel like yourself.

Mindfulness Meditation
Provider: Elaine Kay, RN, CNS, NP
Listen to the silence. Focus your mind. Open your thoughts. Mindfulness meditation, an exercise in building focus and awareness of emotions, dates back to the fifth century B.C., and today is an effective psychotherapy technique. In a safe, nurturing space, we will help you learn to breathe effectively, relax, and help you to access untapped potential for self-healing.

Reiki
Provider: Elaine Kay, RN, CNS, NP
Reiki, from the Japanese words, Rei, meaning “higher power,” and Ki, meaning “life force energy,” is a technique that promotes relaxation, self-healing, and balance. Reiki is based on the idea that energy flows in all of us, and when it’s low, we don’t feel well. Our certified provider uses this relaxing and peaceful approach to treat your entire being: body, emotions, mind, spirit, and soul, increasing and enhancing the flow of energy in you, and creating a sense of security and well-being.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Provider: Elaine Kay, RN, CNS, NP
One of the most promising techniques over the last few decades is EMDR, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Developed by a psychologist in the late 1980s, EMDR is designed to resolve the stimuli associated with trauma, stress, anxiety, as well as other conditions. Elaine uses the technique, allowing patients to safely reflect on and process distressing memories, reduce the influence of these memories, and provide an opportunity to develop adaptive coping skills.

Counseling for Adolescents
Providers: Jennifer Otis, MA, LMHC, Elise Maccurtain-Cogan, LMHC
Effective mental health therapy for teens is built on trust and communication. Mind Well clinicians are experienced working with this young patient population, and provide a comfortable and secure setting for adolescents to address feelings, thoughts, and challenges. Using a variety of methods such as psychotherapy and medication management, we work with young people, understanding their struggles, and helping them find solutions.
